It is a good idea to clean your hot tub at least once a week. This will help you keep the water clear and free from debris, which in turn will make your hot tub experience all the better. Additionally, weekly cleaning can help you maintain the proper chemical balance in your hot tub's water, which is essential for keeping it clean, fresh and, hygienic.

How can I tell if my pool needs a regrouted/pointed?

Grout is the white material you see in between swimming pool tiles. It gives the tiled surface of a swimming pool a smooth lppk and feel, and grout helps to hold the tiles together.

If a regrout is needed you will be able to see gaps in between tiles and, the surface of the tiles will seem rough and not smooth when you run your hand over them.

Grout like a lot of products wears and tears over time. This is caused by several factors, physical touch, constant contact with chlorine as well as the movement of the water.

One cause can be the initial workmanship from when your swimming pool was built along with the type of grout used.

Another cause relates to the type of tiles used. The smaller the tile you use can lead to the need for more frequent regrouting.

Finally, another reason your pool may need regrouting more frequently is down to your pool water not being maintained correctly [wrong chlorine type/balance], this can also contribute to a premature wear of the grout.

What is the difference between a saltwater pool and chlorine pool?

The main difference between a traditional chlorine pool and saltwater pool lies in the additives needed to keep the water's chemical levels balanced and the equipment used to keep the pools running properly.

In a chlorine pool, the use of chlorine helps to keep the water sanitized. This is what is responsible for the 'bleach' like smell. In a saltwater pool, the salt is the additive, and the pool has a salt chlorinator to convert salt to chlorine to help keep the pool fresh, clean and, sanitized. The way that chlorine is made in a saltwater pool results in lower chlorine levels and avoids that distinct chlorine smell.
